International activity at Colorado State University has a long and very distinguished history. In fact, internationalism is at the heart of the University’s land grant mission. At Colorado State we believe that as technology shrinks the world it is more important than ever that we understand other peoples and cultures and work to create mutually beneficial relationships with partners around the world.

We have welcomed students from other countries since 1898 and today we enroll approximately 900 students from nearly 100 countries and welcome approximately 300 visiting scholars and researchers from other countries as well. All of them are served by our Office of International Student & Scholar Services. Our staff is assisted and supported by the Fort Collins International Center, a community volunteer organization in Fort Collins that has a history of half a century of welcoming international students into their homes and assisting the Office with a variety of programs to integrate internationals into the Fort Collins community.
